Both teams to score at Leeds vs Watford 7/10 for Saturday’s Premier League contest

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 7/10 @

Looking to cause what would be an upset on their travels this weekend, Watford will make the trip to Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, while Leeds might have taken a first-half lead against West Ham last weekend, it was another afternoon to forget for Marcelo Bielsa s side. Throwing away the lead and hit with a last-gasp 2-1 defeat on home soil, the Whites are in the midst of a worrying start to the 2021/22 campaign. Despite managing to just about extend on their EFL Cup run away at Championship side Fulham earlier in the month, the one-time Napoli boss is yet to see his side pick up a single Premier League win so far this season. While Leeds might have gained a host of plaudits when making their…

Hernanes is versatile, says Reja

Lazio coach Edy Reja on Friday praised new Brazilian signing Hernanes for his versatility.

Lazio signed the 25-year-old midfielder on a five-year deal from Sao Paulo earlier this month and officially unveiled him on Friday.

I m delighted to be here, I want to thank Lazio, I m realising a dream to play in a big club with a great tradition and great fans, said Hernanes.

Reja said the midfielder would be able to fill a variety of roles.

He will give us depth in midfield, he can play in all three midfield roles, I think he ll adapt easily, said the coach.

Club president Claudio Lotito said Hernanes had come to Lazio to win things.

He gives extra value to our team and to our fans. Everyone is aware of his technical qualities, but he also ha…

Big guns back on track in France

Bordeaux and Marseille, league champions these past two seasons in France, put poor starts to this campaign behind them at the weekend as the southern outfits secured their first league win at the third time of asking.

After Marseille defeated Lorient at the Stade Velodrome on Saturday, on Sunday it was Bordeaux s turn to kick off the summer dust though it took a goal five minutes into stoppage time from Michael Ziani to see off a stubborn Paris Saint German at the Parc des Princes.

After the Girondins ended seven years of Lyon title-winning hegemony under Laurent Blanc in 2008-2009, it appeared they would be going places not least to the likes of the Nou Camp and Old Trafford for Champions League duels.

Instead, last season saw the south western outfit fall awa…

Arteta gives us so much confidence – Smith Rowe praises Arsenal boss for extra support

Emile Smith Rowe has praised Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta for giving young players like himself and Bukayo Saka confidence as the pair look to improve their production in front of goal.

Smith Rowe (21) and Saka (20) were both on target against Andorra during the international break, the former with the Under-21s side and the latter with the senior squad.

Saka scored the second goal of a 5-0 rout on October 9, while Smith Rowe slotted home the only goal of the game two days later after Rhian Brewster s sending-off had reduced the Young Lions to 10 men.

AC Milan are fine with Gattuso – Rodriguez

AC Milan s players are fully behind under pressure head coach Gennaro Gattuso, according to Ricardo Rodriguez.

After losing the Milan derby due to a last-gasp header from Mauro Icardi on Sunday, the Rossoneri slumped to a 2-1 home defeat to Real Betis in Thursday s Europa League clash.

Gattuso claimed afterwards that it would be fair for his position to be under review, despite Milan having gone unbeaten in eight games in all competitions prior to their derby defeat.

But Rodriguez has insisted that Gattuso, who took charge in November 2017, has the squad s full backing.

We lost two games and we are angry, the former Wolfsburg defender told Sky Sports.

But to get out of this period we have to remain calm and focused.

We re fine with Gat…

Ajax star De Ligt wins Golden Boy award

Coveted Ajax captain and sensation Matthijs de Ligt has been crowned the 2018 Golden Boy as the most promising Under-21 player in Europe.

Linked with LaLiga champions Barcelona and Premier League titleholders Manchester City among others, the 19-year-old centre-back claimed the Tuttosport award after receiving the most votes from an international panel.

De Ligt beat Roma winger Justin Kluivert, Liverpool s Trent Alexander-Arnold, AC Milan forward Patrick Cutrone and Real Madrid teenager Vinicius Junior to the honour, won by Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe last year.

Netherlands international De Ligt – under contract until 2021 – has been a revelation since making his debut for boyhood club Ajax in 2016, establishing himself in the heart of the Eredivis…

United States 3-2 Mexico (aet): USA claim inaugural Nations League as Pulisic and Horvath sink El Tr

Christian Pulisic scored a 114th-minute penalty and substitute goalkeeper Ethan Horvath saved a spot-kick six minutes later as the United States overcame Mexico 3-2 after extra time in a stunning inaugural CONCACAF Nations League final.

Poster boy Pulisic, who ended the 2020-21 campaign as a Champions League winner with Chelsea, converted deep into the second period of extra time after Carlos Salcedo was penalised for a foul following a VAR review on Sunday.

Mexico had the chance to force a penalty shoot-out six minutes later after receiving a spot-kick of their own via VAR, but Horvath – a replacement for injured star Zack Steffen in the 69th minute – denied Andres Guardado.

Extra time was needed after the Nations League decider finished 2-2 at the end of 90…

Mohamed Salah scores another solo wondergoal in Liverpool’s thrashing of Watford (Video)

Liverpool absolutely destroyed Watford at the Vicarage on Saturday, with goals from Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and a Roberto Firmino hat-trick setting the score at 0-5.

But despite Firmino netting three times and Mane s strike being his 100th in the Premier League without taking any penalties, the main talking point was once again the goal scored by Salah. The Egyptian bagged a very similar one against Manchester City ahead of the international break. Once again, he sent the opposition defence in all directions before firing into the net.

A genius at work.

Two wonder goals in his last two games. Wow

New WW2 Mini-Series From Ridley Scott And Steven Knight In The Works

Hollywood veterans Ridley Scott and Steven Knight are working together on a World War II mini-series that offers a new look into the conflict from “several international perspectives.” The series is based on Sir Antony Beevor’s books, according to the write-up from Deadline.

The show is called Roads to Freedom, and it’s planned as a “10-episode epic.”

“The intention is to tell the story using fresh and unique perspectives. While most Hollywood war films have focused on the American and British effort, Roads to Freedom will portray the brutal realities from multiple viewpoints, with characters not only from the U.S. and UK but also from Russia, Germany, France, and other countries across the globe,” the report said.

The report goes on to say:

“That includes women,…
