Two initiatives aiming to legalize online sports betting for California tribes have a tough road ahead to find a spot on the 2024 general election ballot, as they face harsh opposition from the same California tribes they hope to help.
The 30-day public comment period for the , the Tribal Gaming Protection Act () and The Sports Wagering Regulation and Tribal Gaming Protection Act (), has closed. Before the proponents can begin circulating the measures for signatures, the California Attorney General must first prepare and issue circulating titles and summaries.

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission unanimously agreed to remove the International Boxing Association (IBA) and any of its event from the Massachusetts sports betting catalogue due to the commission s policy to disallow wagers on any event or league overseen by a Russian or Belarusian governing body or body headquartered in Russia or Belarus.
The IBA is headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, but has moved most of its operations to Russia since the Dec. 12, 2020, election of current IBA President Umar Kremlev.

Details on a lawsuit from the NFL Players Association levied against in the Southern District of New York have been released.
The civil suit was filed last week and claims DraftKings intends to terminate a contract signed with the NFLPA in 2021 that gave the company the right to use NFL player likenesses, names and images for its NFT marketplace.
The NFLPA is suing DraftKings for breach of contract and believes the company owes the association more than $65 million.
